PROJECT FLOW

It begins with a conversation, we connect in person or virtually to discuss your project and needs. A detailed fee proposal will be presented for your consideration to engage my services.

1.

Project Initiation

If a proposal is accepted we begin by gathering detailed information and inspiration to understand our clients' needs. We carefully review every aspect of the project, visit the site, and draft a budget. We'll work with you to build a detailed brief and identify your design preferences.

2.

Schematic Design

Ideas are flowing and layouts are loose. We brainstorm, dream and agree on the way forward, both in style and budget. Initial sketching, layouts and references are reviewed in a collaborative format. This phase is crucial in defining the overall look and feel of the project and is key in setting the direction for the entire project.

Design & Sourcing

Once the concepts are approved we move into developing the design and agreed direction. The goal is to define and gain approval of all of the design recommendations and selections. Initial documentation is drafted and options of FF&E quoted for client review.

3.
4.

Documentation & Procurement

Preparation of working drawings and specifications that define the approved recommendations. The design intent is prepared in an illustrated and written format for construction and manufacturing purposes. Orders are placed with suppliers and trades

5.

Design Management

During the ‘build’ the designer acts as an agent for the client to ensure the project is being built to the approved standards and details. This will require site meetings generally weekly to meet with the client and contractors to ensure a sucessful outcome of the project. Any further information required for the design or strategic problem solving is undertaken by the designer in coordination with the trades.

6.

Installation & Styling

The final phase where we expertly install furnishings to bring spaces to life. With attention to detail, we place every piece purposefully, creating stylish and functional spaces. Depending on the size of the project this may be over a few weeks or days. A final walkthrough with the client to go through any defects and discuss the outcome of the project and decide if any further layering is required.

 FAQs

  • Every project is unique and my pricing aligns with what is required. Considering the size of the project, what my role is on that particular project, and the outcome you are looking to achieve.

My professional fees are calculated on a fixed fee basis and I have a minimum project requirement of $1850+gst

  • Something I am proud to offer my clients is transparency in pricing. I have a global network of suppliers and manufacturers with access to wholesale and trade buying capabilities. This allows me to curate a project which is unique in nature and attractive in cost. Depending on the size and scale of the scope I purchase for you - the savings you can obtain by purchasing items through me outweighs or is around to the cost of the design services.

  • Many variables can affect the timeframe for projects however these are average timeframes to expect

    • Single space renovations allow 2-3 months

    • Medium scale renovation allow at least 3-4 months

    • Large scale renovations and new builds – at least 6 months depending on the scope and level of detail and input required by me

For a FF&E project, timing will depend on the suppliers lead times and product availability. We try to align these lead times and stage a final install - but this isn’t always possible. As an example lead times begin from the deposit being paid and follow the following standard

    • local product: 4-8 weeks (time of year dependant can be up to 12 weeks)

    • imported: 8-20 weeks

*please note this is only a guide and will be dependant on the time of year, demand and availability from the nominated supplier
